Good question. I didn’t mention the Q2 because at the time that I wrote this article (when the ZX-1 was first announced in November 2018) the Q2 did not yet exist. It came out the following year in March. Of course the release of the Q2 gives even more competition to the new Zeiss. I will be getting the Zeiss in-hand this month and will have a review of it posted soon. Here is my earlier review of the Leica Q2.

What I am confused about is the reason why you compared Zeiss ZX1 to Leica Q while you also compared to RX1R 2 while there is already Leica Q2 which has higher megapixel at 47 and also a better EVF. Is it because you’ve never tried the Leica Q2, but you’ve tried Leica Q. If that’s so that is understandable

Same here. It was this site’s film orientation that led me to purchase a film SLR from f-stop cameras. There’s enough digital to go around.

That sensor with all three layers, improved and coupled with the Zeiss lens would be absolutely wonderful. The clunky Sigma DP3 Merrill puts out images that are absolutely delicious!

The M design has already lost to SLRs it´s been 50 yrs already. It´s a niche camera mostly for the wrong reasons.
