I pre-orderede the Mini Evo when it was released, thinking it would be a fantastic camera since it can do almost everything. For the first couple of months, I loved using it, the variety of filters intrigued me. But it was the first couple of months that I realized I like the uncertainty that comes with the instant film cameras, and having to pull the fake film lever when I decide whether I want the photo printed or not made me not wanting to pull it every single time. Which made me started to hate the camera.
After sold it on the Chinese version of ebay, I got myself a SQ6, and I’ve been loving it since.

Hi Lauren, If you transfer the files from the camera to the phone they do have a white border, and somewhat wierdly you can ONLY transfer images to your phone if you have previously printed them. If you use a micro SD card you should be able to transfer them to a computer in that way without any borders. Hope this helps!

Hi James, awesome review and very helpful! I’m looking into this camera as a Christmas gift and have a few questions about transferring the digital photos from the camera to a smartphone/computer. Can you only digitally transfer photos that have been printed? When you transfer them to a phone, do they have a white border or is the full image transferred? If shooting with a MicroSD card, is it possible to transfer the full images to a computer? Hoping you can help – thanks!

I do have the EVO and the one before it, the Lil Play. My only nitpick is that the image sensor is so small. I wish they would go for a larger one. As a digital camera is poor but as an instant it’s pretty awesome!!! I would like to see a version that can do Instax Wide!!!
