I am not a fan of new gear.
I have great respect for Fuji despite they stop to produce great films, Kodak, American Kodak has more business 😉
But this camera seems to give fun, maybe I will have a try.

In reply to Jeremy VanSchalkwyk. That's a good feature! It makes the camera essentially a far more functional Instax printer (like the SP-2)! Now what have been really impressive would have been a way to make it dual digital and direct exposure.

Probably right. I sort of mentioned that the limitation on clarity of Mini prints is probably a limitation of the medium itself. Just playing devil’s advocate here. I’ve enjoyed some low resolution cameras in the past, too! https://casualphotophile.com/2019/09/26/contax-tvs-digital-camera-review/

Thank you for the heads-up on this new Instax camera, it sounds like my kids (and me!) would enjoy it!

As for one of your concerns, printing from a smartphone, the press release does actually say that is a feature: “The “DIRECT PRINT” function allows the use of the “mini Evo” as a smartphone printer, printing pictures taken with a smartphone.”

4mp not enough? I’ve printed great A4 images from a 4mp Canon G2. It would appear that 4mp is nowhere near an issue for the much smaller Instax mini images. So isn’t the IQ a problem with the low resolution mini prints or the system itself? And increasing resolution won’t improve matters, will it?
