I think the square is best. Wide can get pricey. The flash doesn’t bother me on this model, since it’s very well controlled. I believe there is a more advanced camera, the SQ6. I’m not sure if it’s possible to turn the flash off on that one, but I will get one for a review.

I’m looking for an instant camera. The Instax Mini has a too small film size for me. I like the square and wide. If you compare the sq1 and the Wide, what would you recommend? B.t.w. on both it is not possible to switch of the flash. Is this a problem in your opinion?
Thanks,
Robert (The Netherlands)

Polaroid exposes through the front side of the print, so the cameras use a front-surface angled mirror to reverse the image back to normal; whereas Instax, based on the competing Kodak format, exposes the print through the reverse side, so the cameras don’t use the angled mirror. So, in theory. Instax could be made smaller, even if they had identical image sizes.

James, thanks for pointing out the difference between the Polaroid and Instax B&W. I also didn’t realize Instax develops that much faster than my SX70 prints. Look forward to your shots with the Instax Monochrome!

Agreed entirely about Fuji blowing Polaroid instant film out of the water. It’s not even close.
