The mind boggles.

The price on this lens is down to $550, I just bought one. I got the “Titanium” version, which uses 62mm filters and hoods. This should result in less viewfinder blockage. I will find out.

That may be a result of using the same lens designer/s? After looking at many youtube reviews I came to the conclusion that TTArtisan generally make better quality lenses than 7Artisans, and they make several full frame lenses too, whereas 7Artisans lenses are predominately made for APS-C sized sensors.
Another Chinese lens company that has been making really great lenses lately is Laowa…They are made by Venus Optics, based at Hefei in Eastern China. They have a few world firsts on their books…The worlds first 35mm f0.95 full frame lens and they make the worlds widest rectalinear full frame camera lens (the Laowa 9mm f5.6). Their Zero D range of ultrawide angle full frame lenses have some of the lowest distortion in the world for their focal lengths…Like their amazing Laowa 12mm f2.8 Zero D that manages to produce straight horizonal and vertical lines right across the frame! Price wise…7Artisans are the cheapest and Laowa are the most expensive.

Finally, after some research, I have not do. Why? Because, SHURE iem are made in China. I have checked again, and forget that WESTONE an other great American brand has also fantastic iem. Great WESTONE iem are made in USA, Colorado, … WESTONE wins my soul, SHURE lost my confidence.
Local brand are capable to produce local when they really want. WESTONE is a good example.
About the lens ?
Leica is Leica, it is made in GERMANY, for the lens.
I have often explained that I dont want to buy things from a bully which does not respect human rights.
But quality of manufacturing gives one advantage: when you want to sale your item, you can sale at a high price. From Ebay today, average price of a pre-owned Leica Noctilux-M 0,95 is nearly 9500 $ US. Can you sale a cheap thing at a good price?
Employees in Germany earned an average of € 19.37 per hour in April 2018, Leica worker must earn more … 😉
According to the 2021 data, the minimum hourly wage in China per hour is around $1.52. In like a month, a worker can earn up to $161.07. This rate varies depending on the city and provinces and their corresponding development.
This like that, many companies from Western countries have closed their doors, and the others like SHURE made in China.
You see ?
When we buy cheap item, we dont only something of low value, we buy something which kills our economy!!! Which return we have from this big bully? Just bully.
So, again:
Do I need a 0,95 lens? Because all the time it is boring.
Maybe a 1,2 or a 1,4 could be enough.
The stores sale, they sale all the things they can sale, but this is a worst program.
I believe SHURE is better, but WESTONE is made in USA and they offer a 2 years warranty, reason why they are more expensive than SHURE.
Again I will never buy this kind of lens

This is a question of freedom, we can not compare a country where people elect their President, PM, …etc, and don’t create troubles to others, and don’t bully others, and the others which do that … so you cannot compare Australia and China. The Chinese lens are what they are the answer for a market for cheap goods. But the country is a dictature. How many people are arrested, tortured, killed, disappeared?

Well written user-review of this lens…I just bought one myself and am awaiting delivery this afternoon. I am a Leica shooter (as well as Canon and Sony) but cannot justify $12K on a limited-use lens. So, this $750 model should fulfill that Noctilux lust…at least as long as I don’t overthink it! The one thing that I am particularly excited to test is the low light performance that I’ve heard makes these lenses special. Your photos were really nice and sold me on getting this lens (if I hadn’t already bought one). I suppose I’ll discover that for myself tonight!
The price you pay for posting things online though is the freedom others have to hijack your efforts with off-topic efforts of their own. It’s a shame really. The purpose of this article is to share the experience of using this lens…not to pontificate about where it comes from or to promote other political viewpoints. What does any of that have to do with a 50mm f0.95 lens?!
