If you’d maybe like to try a Leica-esque feel before buying a “real” one, or just want to see if a film rangefinder is something for you in general, the Soviet copies are also fairly decent.
I’m very happy with my Fed 3a, and also have a Fed 5c. They feel solidly built, my samples still are snappy without CLA, they regularly come with the very decent Industar-61 lenses and if something goes wrong, you won’t be loosing months’ wages 🙂
They can’t compare to a Leica in terms of finish or mechanical accuracy obviously, but it might be a good entry into rangefinder film photography.

but…. there is not a leica lens.
lens is the most important. body just a box to cover film inside. they wouldnt know you were using leica M6, M7, MP , or a cheap bessa R body.

In reply to andreas. Pete is correct. Some of the “classic” (non-TTL) M6s had the 0.85 viewfinder. I am lucky enough to own one! So not an alternative fact at all.

This is a great camera, certainly one of best Leica M. Great review : Bravo !
By the way, I prefer the M3, and this is the M3 I use the most, because bright and totally simple : pure
