It’s a great lens and manual focus isn’t a drawback, but the lack of f stop or any talk with the camera is definitely.
Having used it for paid and walkabout, that makes the difference. I’m going on a spree to get the Sony STF even if I might need a bump on ISO on the a7riv.

All kidding aside, looks like you’re a typical Dunning-Kruger case: too ignorant to see how ignorant you are (though I don’t recall Dunning and Kruger say anything about insults).
I know you: you’re one of the millions of people-with-camera who will always make sure the exposure scale in the viewfinder is always nicely at zero, because that’s when the exposure is right, isn’t it? No, it isn’t, and that distinguishes guy-with-camera from photographer, the latter being a guy-with-camera who knows what s/he’s doing.
If you would look up “middle gray” you’d learn that when measuring light the camera assumes the whole world is middle gray. That’s because the camera doesn’t really know what it sees, and how dark or bright it is. Best example: ski-slope with a bright sun on it. If you shoot that with the exposure at zero your snow will look grayish. That’s because the camera thinks the bright white snow is overexposed, it doesn’t know the snow IS ACTUALLY that white. And that’s why you have to compensate exposure yourself: overexpose to make the gray white again.
Same here with the images you claim are overexposed. They’re not. When you’re shooting outside at noon on a sunny summer day the scene most likely will be brighter than middle gray. You guy-with-camera, in Auto mode will always get a dull image, even on bright days. A photographer, let’s say James, knows what’s he’s doing, and will tell the camera: no this isn’t middle gray, this is 1 stop brighter.

OK, this tutorial was free, if you want to learn more you’ll have to pay me. But first wash your mouth with soap, and stop insulting people. It only exposes your own stupidity.

Thank you very much for all the kind words, my friend! I believe you’re right that this would be a great lens for weddings.

I really like they pop with the sharp difference between ultra sharp focus and smooth background. I would imagine this would be perfect for weddings, and the macro feature would be useful too. And your kids are suuuuper cute haha!
