Unfortunately I couldn’t keep a copy functioning. Imagine my joy to find that Konica made 1000 exact copies of this lens for LTM. It’s a tiny little jewel of brass and paint and I love he way it renders.

The only 2 that come close in my collection are the Rokkor 75mm f/3.5 in my Minolta Autocord and the Zuiko 38mm f/1.8 on my Olympus Pen FT – amazing lens for a tiny body!

Minolta and Konica designed in the late 70’s and in the early 80’s very similar lenses like Nikon with the Nikkor Ai 35mmf2.8. All of them got a modern 5/5 lens design. The image quality , especially in the corners, and the overall performance at f2.8 and f4.0 improved noticeably.
My experiences with the late Minolta MD Rokkor 35mmf2.8 and with the last version of Konica Hexanon 35mmf2.8 are very good, superb lenses !
I use them on Minolta and Konica SLR’s with lots of joy !

Another wonderful options are the Takumars 1.8/55mm or 1.4/50mm.
With Minolta cameras i recommend the Rokkor 1.4/50mm. But lovely too : Rokkor – PF 2/50mm or 1.7/55mm.

From all of them the four Carl Zeiss, the two leicas and the Zuiko really appeal to me. The Olympus XA has a great little glass that is super sharp, with great contrast and color rendition. I am happy to recently have purchased two Contax SLR and two Carl Zeiss C/Y: a Planar 50mm f/1.7 and a Sonnar 45mm f/2.8.

I will test the Planar today with a Contax 139q and a roll of Ilford HP5 400 and I’m very excited. 😀
