yeah, I guess it’s a fair point. Personally I had an Olympus Centurion – SLR camera but without interchangeable lenses, and used APS film. I got some fantastic photos with that camera.

For sure, digital killed it. But I do think that, because the image quality was’t as good, APS was limited to viability only for people who didn’t care about image quality too much (non-pros). So when people switched to digital, APS had no more customers. Unlike 35mm and MF film, which did continue on with some of the old pros at least.

Using it perpetuates real harm. There’s a whole group of related words that come directly from the eugenics movement that shouldn’t be used. I know how and why you’re using it, its just one of those things that once you know — and our culture doesn’t encourage people to know, but a lot of us find out anyway — you spend a sleepless night in horror and never use the word again.
